You will be able to easily save it to Apple Wallet and Google Pay, enabling contactless purchases in stores and other places.

Is there a difference between "virtual" and "digital" Visa cards?

Yes, a virtual card exists only in a digital context, while a digital card can also have a physical representation.

Do I need to activate the digital card as a user?

No, the digital representation of the card in the wallet and its availability for provisioning to Google Pay and Apple Pay does not require activation. The activation process for the physical card remains the same.

Are the card details the same on my physical card as on my digital card?

Yes, the PIN, CVV, and expiration date are all the same.

What happens if I want to lock my card?

What happens if I want to report my card stolen or terminate it?

You can access the settings through Card & Account, which allows you to terminate the card. At that point, a new Digital card is created and available in the app. You will also receive information on how to order a new physical card.

Can I just terminate my physical card and keep the digital card the same?

No, since the details are the same, terminating one will terminate both. In this case, you would need to add new details to online merchants and re-provision with Apple/Google.
